| analogue signal | An analogue signal is one which carries information in the waveform, that is, in the continuous variation of the signal with time. |
| Anonymous FTP | A method of sharing files on the Internet. A variety of software that can provide FTP function is available in most networking software packages. Anonymous FTP simply means a computer will allow anyone using the FTP software access to a special directory of files on its disk drive. |

The ANS designation is awarded after the opportunity for public review and comment, and a certification by the SDO that due process was followed in the development of the standard. |
