- Manipulation and/or processing of data looks at how data can be processed. I personally find it hard to separate this section of the syllabus form module 202. Input manipulation and storage of data are more or less continuous processes, it may be that some parts of what I have covered in topic 202 belong in this section of the syllabus. I am confident that these notes cover the whole of the syllabus when taken as a whole!

Specification: Manipulation and/or processing

• Describe the different modes of operation; batch, interactive, transaction and real-time, indentify appropriate contexts of use.
• Describe the characteristics of processing data in the form of text, pictures, numbers and sound.
