- A school is planning the introduction of a computer based
attendance system for classes and registration groups. The purpose of the
system is to produce information for the following end-users:
- class teachers
- tutors/head of year
- senior managers (for example deputy head)
- Describe three alternative methods of collecting the attendance
data for the system. (6)
- For each of the different end-users describe, with the aid of an
example, information that the system might produce in relation to their
requirements. (6)
- A customer of a bank wants to withdraw some money from a cash
machine. Describe the information flow. (6)
- A particular organisation is upgrading its computer-based stock
control system. The previous data collection system was OMR based. One function
of the system is to allow stock levels to be monitored on a regular basis.
- State three other alternative methods of collecting stock

- What factors, other than cost, will determine the method of

- The software used to control the system must support an audit
trail. Explain what is meant by the term audit trail, and state why
