4.3 Corporate information systems strategy
The module is split into a number of sections by the exam board, the
notes follow the boards order. Additional items of research are provided to
give background information from other sources such as books and related
Internet sites.

4.3 Corporate information systems strategy
- Describe the factors influencing an information system within an
organisation: management organisation and functions, planning and decision
making methods, general organisation structure, responsibility for the
information system within an organisation, information flow, hardware and
software, standard, behavioural factors e.g. personalities, motivation, ability
to adapt to change.
4.3.1 Information flow
- Describe the methods and mechanisms of information flow within an
organisation both formal and informal and the constraints imposed upon this by
organisational structures..
4.3.2 Personnel
- Understand the levels of task/personnel within an organisation:
strategic, implementation, operational and relate the needs of these three
levels to the information system.
